The Prime Minister paid a visit to the emergency centre. In a video of the visit, he said it is from there that emergency centre workers restore the operation of railway lines in the event of trouble. “Here, there are mostly young people, they’re enthusiastic and determined,” the Prime Minister said.
“That yesterday evening-last night we managed to significantly improve the situation is mostly owing to their personal commitment. We did thank them for their hard work, but as far as I can see, the job hasn’t finished here because according to forecasts, storms can be expected even today, especially on the Pécs-Budapest line, and then in the direction of Szolnok, that can cause difficulties,” Mr Orbán pointed out.
He added: one thing is certain, the people working here are doing their best. “It is from here that coaches are directed to various parts of the country in order to rescue passengers stuck in railway carriages and to take them to their destinations. This is the very heart of the defence effort during emergencies,” the Prime Minister said.
Mr Orbán said those who are in charge of forecasts here expect today and tomorrow to be more difficult, but afterwards the situation will become easier.
