Home refurbishment programme extended to include pensioners 

“There is a home refurbishment programme for families in the countryside, living in settlements with a population of less than five thousand. We will extend this so that pensioners can also avail themselves of this opportunity,” Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in a video posted on his Facebook account on Tuesday. 

The Prime Minister said there will be a rural home refurbishment programme also for persons receiving old-age pensions or eligible for early retirement, including grants as well. Over a period of two years, 90 billion forints will be channelled to pensioners living in settlements with a population of less than five thousand in the countryside, he explained. 

Mr Orbán stressed that if the programme proves successful, after the initial two years, they will not only continue it, but will also increase the available grants.
