Further alarming news reports received from Russo-Ukrainian war 

“The meeting of the Defence Council has just finished. We convened it because we received more alarming news reports from the Russo-Ukrainian war. The situation is clear; regrettably, despite President Trump’s efforts, rather than coming out of the war, we are going further in,” Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in a video he posted on his social media account on Monday evening. 

He observed that the Brussels bureaucrats did not support the American peace plans. They decided that Ukraine must continue the war. Hungary is against this; instead, Hungary supports the American peace efforts. 

He added that we must prepare for the possibility that the Brussels leadership with a vested interest in the continuation of the war would do everything it could to push Hungary into the pro-war European coalition. 

The Prime Minister said we must also prepare for the possibility that the secret service operations conducted against Hungary and the smear campaigns financed from abroad will switch to a higher gear. 

The Prime Minister stated that the Defence Council had adopted the decisions necessary in the interest of the country’s security. “We will continue to defend Hungary’s sovereignty as well as the security of Hungarian families,” Mr Orbán laid down.
