We’ve been hit by an oil crisis. Fuel prices across Europe have skyrocketed. I have yesterday’s price changes right here in my hand – and they’re alarming. The energy situation is already dire, and, by all accounts, an energy crisis in Europe is inevitable. In Hungary we are helping families, business owners and farmers with protected fuel prices. Now the European Commission has once again attacked this system. The Brusselites are again demanding that Member States phase out protected fuel prices, and they are demanding this of us as well. If we were to do so, the price of petrol and diesel would immediately skyrocket. This is another matter we will decide on this Sunday. Anyone who votes for pro-Brussels political forces will be voting for petrol at 1,000 forints per litre. We stand by the price caps, we shall break the Ukrainian oil blockade, and we shall ensure the energy necessary for families and for the economy to function. This is why Fidesz is the safe choice!
