Today we established the Drought Operational Task Force. According to all the scientific and specialist analyses, in 2025 Hungary is facing another drought year, despite the fact that it’s raining now. This isn’t a new problem: in Hungary we have to deal with floods, surface water flooding and drought. This year will be a drought year, so that’s what we’ll have to cope with. Today, with the members of the Operational Task Force, we’ve taken stock of the tools available, and the possibilities for averting the consequences of the drought this year and for mitigating the damage. I call on all farmers to cooperate with the Operational Task Force, because it’s in our joint interest to make this year a successful one on farmland as well.
