At this tragic time Hungary stands with Turkey

In a message, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán offered his condolences to Turkish head of state Recep Tayyip Erdogan in connection with the victims of the earthquake that hit the country in the early hours of the morning as well as the damage sustained, and offered Hungary’s assistance, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Monday.

“I learnt with shock and sorrow about the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey’s southern part, causing significant material damage and claiming human lives. I would like to take this opportunity to confirm to you that at this tragic time Hungary stands with Turkey,” Mr Orbán wrote.

“On this sad occasion, I’d like to offer my sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wish the injured a swift recovery. At the same time, I sincerely hope that the Hungarian offer of assistance will be able to contribute to the success of the rescue operations,” Mr Orbán wrote, concluding his message to the President of Turkey.
