We’re in Pócsmegyer. Here the village is being protected by a flood barrier that’s just over ten years old. The other section, behind us, was built earlier, but it too will hold back the water. Volunteers are working to close the gap between the two sections. Here, too, there’s a marker indicating the highest flood level to date, in 2013. We can be sure that the current flood will remain below this level here in Pócsmegyer, and the defences have already reached the level needed. So I’m saying – not in the present tense, but already in the past tense – that Pócsmegyer has done what it needs to. The people living here are safe. Thanks are due to the firefighters and volunteers!
