Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had talks with leaders of international conservative party alliance

On Monday in the Carmelite Monastery, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán hosted a working dinner for leading politicians of the Centrist Democrat International (CDI), the organisation for conservative parties, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

The event was attended by former Columbian head of state-President of CDI Andres Pastrana, Executive Secretary of CDI Antonio Lopez-Isturiz, former Slovenian prime minister Janez Jansa who, similar to Mr Orbán, is also one of CDI’s vice-presidents, Member of the European Parliament Mario David, the Prime Minister’s political director Balázs Orbán, Fidesz Vice-President Kinga Gál, Chair of Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee Zsolt Németh and senior advisor to the Prime Minister Zsuzsanna Rahói.

According to the press chief’s communication, at the working dinner the parties discussed the strategies and cooperation opportunities that are available to right-wing, Christian, conservative parties in the present situation when, due to the Russo-Ukrainian war, an energy crisis, economic recession, inflation and the consequences of the policy of sanctions are affecting countries worldwide, but in particular in Europe.
