Viktor Orbán to Romania’s new Prime Minister: Neighbours can count on each other

Viktor Orbán expressed his congratulations in a letter on the occasion of the election of Nicolae Ciucă as Prime Minister of Romania, the Prime Minister’s Press Chief, Bertalan Havasi informed Hungarian news agency MTI on Saturday.

“Despite the challenge posed by the past two years, cooperation between the two countries has not lost momentum, and the global pandemic had shown that neighbours can always count on each other in times of need”, the Hungarian Prime Minister wrote to his Romanian counterpart.

Viktor Orbán expressed his firm belief that the two countries can be brought even closer through the development of economic, energy and transport links, and that political dialogue on both bilateral and European issues may also be reinforced.

The Hungarian Prime Minister wrote that he was very happy to hear that the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (DAHR) is also taking part in the new Romanian government as a coalition partner, and will be providing added value the government’s work with its experience and professionalism.
