Viktor Orbán holds talks with the EU Special Envoy for the promotion of freedom of religion

Bertalan Havasi, head of the Prime Minister’s Press Office, has informed Hungarian news agency MTI that in the Hungarian Parliament Building on Monday Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received Ján Figel’, the European Union’s Special Envoy for the promotion of freedom of religion or belief outside the EU.

Mr. Havasi said that in Budapest last week Mr. Figel’ attended an international conference on the persecution of Christians, at which he gave an address. He described the event as a success.

At their meeting on Monday, the Prime Minister and the EU Special Envoy established that the policy of providing assistance where problems arise is a success, as has also been confirmed by those affected; taking assistance to where it is needed is also a good solution for Europe.

The Prime Minister told Mr. Figel’ that over the past six months Hungary has provided accommodation to over a thousand families in the Middle East.
