Prime Minister Viktor Orbán sends the Batthyány Society of Professors a letter and an enclosure containing factual data

Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister, informed miniszterelnok.hu on Thursday that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has sent the Batthyány Society of Professors (PBK) a letter of thanks, and a list of 25 points containing data which has served as the basis for government decisions departing from the study published by the PBK.

In his letter Mr. Orbán wrote: “I would like to congratulate you on your work, the results of which were made public in Hungary on 12 January. On behalf of the Government, I would like to thank you for the work you have completed in our country’s interest in order to assist an accurate assessment of Hungary’s situation”.

The Prime Minister indicated that he is pleased to be at the PBK’s disposal “for genuine dialogue which does not serve propaganda purposes, and as part of which we may conduct an exchange of views regarding your study”.

Mr. Havasi informed kormany.hu that, together with the letter, Mr. Orbán sent a 53-page enclosure containing facts, data and graphs serving as the basis for the Government’s decisions. This is arranged into 25 points, which depart in a number of respects from the conclusions reached by the Batthyány Society of Professors.
