Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had telephone conversation with former US President Donald Trump

During a telephone conversation on Tuesday evening, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and former US President Donald Trump spoke about mutual political support, Hungarian-US relations and migration, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

During the telephone conversation, Mr Trump congratulated Hungary on the outstanding results of its economy, and said he will root for Mr Orbán during the next parliamentary elections.

The President of Fidesz thanked Mr Trump for his political support, and reassured him that Hungary would continue to remain a good ally of the United States of America.

Mr Orbán congratulated the former US President on his campaign event in Arizona where Mr Trump said “in 2024 we are going to take back the White House”.

Mr Havasi said during the telephone conversation the Hungarian Prime Minister and the former US President reviewed the migration crisis situation which equally affects Hungary and the United States, pointing out that illegal immigration must be curbed in the interest of protecting our nations.
