Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had talks with President of Hungarian Academy of Sciences

On Friday afternoon, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had talks with President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Tamás Freund in the Carmelite Monastery, in Budapest, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

At the meeting, they reviewed the situation of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and Hungarian academia. The President of the Academy informed the Prime Minister about the programmes and plans of the Academy’s new leadership for the organisation of the Hungarian academic community.

The parties agreed that the scientific body will develop a post-COVID strategy as well as a national pandemic plan for the medium term which will also include the management of the period after the present crisis. The strategy will address the challenges posed by future pandemics similar to the coronavirus pandemic, the press chief pointed out.
