On Tuesday morning in the Carmelite Monastery, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Chief Executive of the Vodafone Group Nick Read had talks about Hungary’s digital development, and the enhancement of competitiveness in that context, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

At the meeting, the parties also spoke about Vodafone’s future plans, and established that each and every one of them also served Hungary’s economic and social development. They further spoke about the digitisation of small and medium-sized businesses, private 5G network projects supporting the development of industry, and the creation of intelligent cities that equally bear sustainability criteria in mind and make people’s lives easier.

The parties pointed out at the meeting that Vodafone was a key investor in Hungary; in the past 22 years, the company has consistently helped the country’s growth, harmonising its own business objectives with Hungary’s interests. The company has created some 9,000 jobs in the country; at present, Vodafone has more than 3.8 million customers in Hungary.
