In Prague, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had talks with former Czech head of state Václav Klaus, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Thursday.

At the meeting held in the building of the Václav Klaus Institute, the parties spoke about the Russo-Ukrainian war and the migration and economic crisis that has developed in its wake as well as about price rises and the shortage of energy.

Mr Orbán said the flawed Brussels policy of sanctions must be reconsidered because the sanctions have not come up to the expectations that were attached to them. The war has not come to an end, prices are skyrocketing in Europe, and at the same time, Russia is making good money on the situation that has evolved, he argued.

Mr Orbán and Mr Klaus had an informal discussion about the post-change of regime political and economic processes in Central Europe, also recalling their personal memories from the era.

Prior to the EU summit held in Prague, the Hungarian Prime Minister also met with former Czech Prime Minister-President of the ANO Movement Andrej Babis, Mr Havasi reported.
