Dog walking could be made an exception to the curfew to be imposed between 8.00 p.m. and 5.00 a.m. due to the coronavirus epidemic; local municipalities will have the authority to decide on the detailed rules regarding this, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in a video message posted on his Facebook account on Tuesday. The Prime Minister agreed on this in the Parliament Building with ministerial commissioner responsible for the renewal and implementation of the National Animal Protection Programme Péter Ovádi. The drafting of the detailed rules relating to the closure of dog runs will also be delegated to municipal competence, Mr Orbán said. At the meeting, they highlighted that this issue concerned some 1.5 million dog owners.
