Hungarian State could repurchase Liszt Ferenc Airport at any moment
19. 10. 2021.
It is the intention of the Hungarian government to repurchase the Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport, and this could happen at any moment now, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told public service media on Monday in Supljak (Ludas), Serbia.

The Prime Minister said it is only right that we should have the only truly serious, big international airport of the country in Hungarian hands, this is why the right thing to do is to buy it back, and the economy is strong enough to enable us to do that. The transaction could be brought to a conclusion at any moment now, he added.

He took the view that if the airport is returned to state ownership, it will be possible to implement developments which will elevate the airport and so the whole of Budapest by two or three classes.
