At the meeting, items on the agenda will include the reinforcement of European integration prospects for the countries of the region, topical security challenges, including the issue of migration, and the European Commission’s economy development plan. The issue of the fight against the coronavirus epidemic will be a key topic; the European Union will provide assistance for the Western Balkans with the containment of the epidemic.

Mr Havasi recalled that Hungary had earlier sent protective supplies to Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania and North Macedonia, and another Hungarian consignment would soon be sent to Montenegro as well. He added that several times in the past, the Hungarian Prime Minister had firmly stood up for the EU accession of Western Balkans countries which was equally in the best interests of the countries concerned and the EU itself.
