Eliminating the drugs network will be no easy job, but we will persevere

“Eliminating [the drugs network] will be no easy job, but we will persevere […] we will continue  until we have eliminated it and have rid ourselves of the drugs network,” Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated at a street forum held on Monday in Tarnazsadány in Heves County after he had talks with László Horváth, the government commissioner responsible for the elimination of drug dealing, and the leaders of neighbouring settlements severely affected by the drugs business.

In a video posted on his Facebook account, Mr Orbán said there is a problem because the drugs that are destroying our children and also adults have proliferated, in particular, in this part of the country. “I’m determined to put an end to this,” the Prime Minister stated.

The Prime Minister said he came to the settlement in order for the authorities to eliminate the drugs problem, but it will not be an easy job because “there is a very large amount of money in it, and a very large number of people are trying to live off this business whilst destroying our children.”

Mr Orbán said the goal is to enable the people to lead a normal life as they did before drugs caught up with them.

The Prime Minister also spoke about the bills presented to Parliament “which are designed to support women.” He said the tax benefit available in relation to children will increase for those who work, while those who have older children and work will be given lifetime tax exemption.
