Prime Minister Viktor Orbán greeted Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and the citizens of Poland on the occasion of the national holiday of the Republic of Poland in a message, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Friday.

“11 November is a special holiday as this day symbolises the realisation of a dream created about the establishment of a free and sovereign country. On this day, we Hungarians pay tribute to the self-sacrificing struggle of Polish patriots fighting for independence, and look upon the reacquisition of the independence of the Polish state as the restoration of historical justice,” Mr Orbán wrote.

He further wrote that by virtue of our joint historical experiences, he regards the brotherhood that exists between the Hungarian and Polish peoples as exemplary, and expressed his conviction that “the bonds that tie us together are much stronger than the aspirations that seek to divide us”.
