Hungary is a calm and safe island of the globe  

In a letter addressed to the leaders of domestic Jewish organisations, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán extended his greetings to members of the Hungarian Jewish community on the occasion of the Jewish New Year, Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Wednesday. 

In these few days, Jewish communities around the world are wishing each other a good and sweet year. Hungary is proud to be a calm and safe island of the globe where this wish can be expressed with the utmost ease,

Mr Orbán wrote.

The Prime Minister emphasised that it is in everyone’s best interest to preserve this peace, and thanked members of the Hungarian Jewish community for their significant intellectual, economic and cultural contributions with which they have enriched the nation over the past year as well. 

“May you all be inscribed for a good year,” the Prime Minister wrote in conclusion.
