Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has postponed all his international engagements 

Due to the extreme weather situation and the floods affecting Hungary, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has postponed all his international engagements. Mr Orbán published his decision on X on Monday.

In response to the enquiry of the Hungarian news agency MTI, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief said due to the flood defence effort, Mr Orbán has postponed his address which he was due to deliver in the European Parliament. 

He has also postponed his planned visit to the Vatican in the second half of the week as well as his attendance of the UN General Assembly in New York where Hungary will now be represented by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the news agency.
